Indus Motor Company (IMC) initiated a Clean-drive campaign across the city of Karachi in partnership with Society for I Am Karachi (IAK). The 4-month long campaign not only targeted at cleaning up Karachi, but also bringing its citizens together, fostering a sense of civic responsibility among citizens while keeping the city clean.
The clean-drive 2018 was initiated at an opening ceremony of the Umair Memorial Football Ground in Steel town with members of IMC, IAK, civil society, and the local community. The campaign will cover a total of 15 locations including 7 sports academies, 5 educational institutes, 2 parks and 1 beach. IMC also aim to impart Toyota’s 5S principles to the local communities during the clean-drive, with the belief that these principles and concepts can yield higher quality results that can lead to a better quality of life in a cleaner, more organized Karachi.
Through involving community leaders, residents, and citizens, the campaign will include awareness sessions in different communities such as schools, towns and vocational institutes. During these awareness sessions, IMC hopes to fill the citizens of Karachi with a sense of responsibility to keeping their respective communities clean and litter-free long after the clean-drive is over.
